The nature of Dr. LIfe
Finally, we came to the focus of the reality show – the MCN Nazaraliev Medical Center. According to Google maps, it is situated in the Tien Shan piedmont village of Besh-Kungey in 8 km from the capital of Kyrgyzstan foothills. There are no nuclear power reactors here, but the processes of half-decay, decay and formation of new atoms of the society are as intensive is in the Large Hadron Collider. Ionized air, odour of healing herbs and deflorated plants, murmur of rivers, as if they were counting stones, slight slopes of mountains – such natural poetry, undoubtedly, facilitates the cure of patients who come here for treatment. And, as to the scenery of mountainous meadow, a book case containing world literary heritage would match the landscape easily.
Arriving at shooting location, the TV crew was truly amazed: their notion of a clinic had been very different from what they saw. The natural setting and the views one can see from any corner of the MCN territory can astonish even the most
demanding traveler. Everything necessary for patients’ rest and leisure is provided here: a swimming pool, a tennis court, a football field, a unique waterfall and a rock garden. Every stone here is a witness of eternity, each of them has a story of its own. The clinic’s doctors say that the rock garden not only causes aesthetic enjoyment, but it also has a favorable impact on the patients’ psyche.
We suppose that the environment of the future shooting area is another factor making the show unique and exceptional. It’s very meditation friendly, even zen-like!
As soon as we arrived, we found ourselves amid the working process. There was a meeting of the filmmakers with the MCN personnel. The medical staff was being explained the technicalities of the shooting process, every doctor’s image making, the concept of the show etc. The general idea of the filmmakers is that there is no need for the doctors and the medical auxiliary to match the TV cameras trying to behave somehow in a different way than they got used to. Quite contrary, Andrey Ershov, the scriptwriter, insisted on the truthfulness and naturalness of everything presented to the viewers.
Despite the fact that the clinics’ doctors are far from publicity and television, they were very enthusiastic about the idea to feature in the reality show. Moreover, they suggested their own ideas and concepts of the show.
After the meeting, we managed to have a personal conversation with some doctors. We can’t call them merely drug therapists. They take so many human destinies and life stories close to their hearts every day… Every doctor has his own approach to his patients, but, as they emphasized in our conversation, they all are united by the ability to empathize all their patients, their major aspiration appreciate every human life. Patients who come here are very different people with different social background, varying from companies’ presidents to criminal authorities.
