Dr. Life. The beginning.
Only a few days left before a unique reality-show Dr. Life starts. The unprecedented online project will tell people about drug addicts’ chance to begin a new life. The show participants will get an opportunity to correct the mistakes of their past life before TV cameras’ lens, demonstrating their exceptional will power and endurance.
“Most unexpected dramatic events illustrating the life of drug addicts, their relatives and friends will develop right in front of the eyes of millions of Internet users. The reality will reveal the whole palette of human emotions during their struggle against their own vicious ego to start a new free life”, the director’s synopsis says.
“When we were setting about the project’s conception, we spread the word through Internet “Does anyone want to take a part in the reality show?”. Then we got an answer on a forum, and it almost clipped our wings. It read: “’How can you do that? It’s people’s tragedy. How dare you to make a show out of it?!”
But in a day we got a message from Svetlana: “I want to participate in the show. I have just kicked the habit, but, perhaps, I can cope with it by myself for a while… Let me think. Give me some time…” Not only the participants were in the process of thinking, we chew the cud, plunged in our meditation over the destiny of the reality show too.
How can we implement such a project? Will we be able to present all the ins and outs of the complicated and controversial world of drug addicts without going beyond the pale, without crossing the line and hurting our participants’ emotions? Famous drug therapist Dr. Life, who has rehabilitated 16 thousand drug addicts for 25 years of his practice, and the World League Mind Free of Drugs developed a code of ethics, a kind of professional moral philosophy.
“It turned out that decencies should be kept up even in the hell, because, as far as we know, this hell is a different one”, Andrei Ershov, the creative producer of the project, says.
We are volunteers of the World League Mind Free of Drugs. We are opening a special blog where we will narrate about creating the reality show. We are well aware, of course, that it is going to be difficult, even unbearable, we are going to face successes and failures, but it will be interesting. That's all we can promise you. Large-scale projects are never carried out in another way.
Soon we will tell you about the uneasy, intricate fates of future participants, about painstaking work of shooting and creative project crews set.
